Embree's forte' is "reading the audience", and delivering selections
from his vast repertoire that fit the mood of the moment. Perhaps the
cocktail hour of your event will call for a breezy bossa nova, or an
impassioned selection from the Great American Songbook (think Frank
Sinatra, Stan Getz, Dean Martin.) As the energy of the evening
intensifies, Embree's song selections promise to make the dance floor
irresistible! (Wilson Pickett, Louis Prima, Temptations)
The dancers enjoy the band because they play songs that work for these
specific dances: East Coast and West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Waltz, Cha
Cha, Tango, Rhumba, Fox Trot, Jamaica, Hustle, Slow Dancing and Line
Dances. Or you just get out and there and shake your booty!
Jerry Embree's Society Band plays private parties, weddings, corporate
shows, clubs, dances, and how about your event? Remember, the size of
the group can be customized to suit your needs.
A New Orleans resident and working professional musician for the past 20
years, Jerry and his wife Darlene relocated to Orlando, Florida after
Hurricane Katrina. Embree now accepts select bookings in both Florida
and Louisiana. Please call or e-mail for availability.
Be sure and check out Jerry's sax solo on the song "Love You Til The Day
I Die", on Fat's Domino's 2006 release "Alive and Kickin" CD, on the
Tipitina's record label.
Saxophonist Jerry Embree has recorded with Fats Domino, Bobby
Charles, and Coco Robicheaux. He has performed with Art Neville, Frankie
Ford, Johnny Adams, and Frank Sinatra, Jr. As a producer, he has
produced albums for Beau Jocque, Rockin Dopsie, Jr. Rebirth Brass Band,
and many others.
In 2003, the band performed 11 nights at the New Orleans and Louisiana
Food and Music Festival at the Sheraton Hotel in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Jerry has also performed at other international festivals, including the
